Star Trek Beyond Trailer to Debut With Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Leave it up to director J.J. Abrams to finally bring 'Star Wars' and 'Star Trek' together. According to THR, Paramount's highly anticipated Star Trek Beyond trailer will debut in theaters before showings of Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Abrams directed 'Star Trek' (2009) and 'Star Trek Into Darkness' (2013) for Paramount, but gave up directing duties on 'Star Trek Beyond' to helm 'The Force Awakens' for Lucasfilm and Disney.
Other 2016 films likely to secure trailer placement include Warner Bros.' Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 25), Universal's The Huntsman's Winter War (April 22), X-Men: Apocalypse (May 27) and Independence Day: Resurgence (June 24) along with Disney films The Jungle Book (April 15), Captain America: Civil War (May 6) or Finding Dory (June 17).
'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' opens in select 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on the evening of December 17 before opening everywhere in North America on December 18. 'Star Trek Beyond' will be released in conventional theaters and IMAX on July 22, 2016.
