Ridley Scott attached to 'Alien' prequel
Just like a facehugger alien, Ridley Scott is now attached to direct the fifth 'Alien' film for Twentieth Century Fox. The sci-fi thriller is set up to be a prequel to the groundbreaking 1979 film 'Alien' directed by Scott.
In 'Alien' the space crew of the commercial ship Nostromo comprised of five men and two women is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules, halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel.
The tale unfolds as they further look into the S.O.S. distress call from that battered commercial space vessel only to discover that it's a warning call, rather than a call for help. However, it is too late to turn back as three members of the crew have already left to investigate the derelict ship. All five encounter a deadly alien with acid for blood, that begins to kill the crew members one by one.
'Alien' starred Sigourney Weaver and was followed by 'Aliens' directed by James Cameron, 'Alien 3' directed by David Fincher and 'Alien: Resurrection' by French director Jean-Pierre Jeunet. Source
