Matthew McConaughey Confirmed for Nolan's Interstellar

Director Christopher Nolan has cast Matthew McConaughey as the male lead in his mysterious sci-fi thriller Interstellar, based on a script by Jonathan Nolan (The Dark Knight Rises).

McConaughey already has space exploration experience. He co-starred with Jodie Foster in Robert Zemeckis's Contact (1997), based on Carl Sagan's novel.

Interstellar is said to depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the furthest reaches of our scientific understanding.

The film will be co-produced and distributed by the two studios, with Paramount Pictures handling Domestic distribution and Warner Bros. Pictures distributing the film Internationally.

Interstellar is scheduled to be released on November 7, 2014 in theaters and IMAX.
