Warner Bros. Television has announced that actors Robin Lord Taylor, Sean Pertwee, Zabryna Guevara and Erin Richards have joined Fox's Batman origin TV series, Gotham.
Taylor (Another Earth) will portray Oswald Cobblepot aka The Penguin. The character is described as a strategic psychopath.
Pertwee (Elementary) has been cast as Alfred Pennyworth, young Bruce Wayne's trusted butler. In Gotham, Alfred is a "tough-as-nails" ex-Marine from East London.
Guevara (Burn Notice) will portray Captain Essen, detective James Gordon's boss at the Gotham City Police Department Homicide Squad. Richards (Being Human) will play Gordon's fiancée Barbara Kean, an ER doctor in Gotham City.
They join Southland's Ben McKenzie starring as a young version of Commissioner Gordon. Gotham will tell the origin story of James Gordon along with Gotham City's notable villains. A young Bruce Wayne will also be featured, as Gotham follows Wayne from his pre-teen years to the moment when it puts on the Batman cape for the first time.
