Focus Features has acquired the worldwide distribution rights to director Tom Ford's dramatic thriller Nocturnal Animals, starring Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal.
Backed by its parent studio Universal Pictures, the deal cost more than $20 million in a bidding war at the Cannes Film Festival.
'Nocturnal Animals' is an adaptation of the 1993 novel "Tony And Susan" by Austin Wright.
The story follows an English teacher, who is forced to confront her own dark fears and regrets after receiving a thrilling book manuscript written by her ex-husband.
