The Batman vs. Superman storyline and Ben Affleck's Batman costume is getting an "Excellent" review from longtime friend and collaborator Matt Damon.
Matt Damon talked with MTV at the red carpet premiere for The Monuments Men, directed by former-Batman George Clooney. Damon said that he has seen a photo of best bud Ben Affleck in the new Batman costume for Batman vs. Superman and revealed that he knows the top secret storyline.
"I've seen a picture," he said. "I have seen a picture. It's excellent. And I've talked to him about the storyline, and it's great."
This is the second positive review of the new batsuit after Kevin Smith hyped up the redesign on his podcast after hosting the Man of Steel live fan event. Snyder showed Smith a photo of Affleck in the suit, and the lifelong comic book fan was elated.
"Now, I don't want to give anything away because that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this: I instantly bear-hugged [Snyder]," Smith said. "You have not seen this costume in a movie on film before. And for a comic-book fan, it was mind-bending."
Damon said that he was the person in the prime position to tell the future Bruce Wayne if he was making a huge mistake, but what he has seen from the movie convinced him otherwise. "Look, I've known him for thirty-something years," Damon said. "I'd be the first guy being like, 'Buddy, what are you doing?' But I think the movie is going to be great." Source: MTV
