Adam Driver In Talks for Marvel's Fantastic Four?
Adam Driver is reportedly in final talks to play Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, in Marvel's upcoming "Fantastic Four" reboot. Directed by Matt Shakman, who also helmed the hit Disney+ series "WandaVision", the highly-anticipated superhero movie will be produced by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige.
The script for the film was written by Josh Friedman, known for his work on "Snowpiercer", and is based on a draft by Jeff Kaplan and Ian Springer. Details regarding the plot of the movie are still under wraps, but it is set to open Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe on February 14, 2025.
This marks the fourth attempt to bring the Fantastic Four to the big screen, after unsuccessful adaptations in 1994, 2005, and 2015. However, with the backing of Marvel Studios and their successful track record with superhero movies, fans are hoping that this time will be the charm for the beloved characters.
Adam Driver, who gained widespread recognition for his role as Kylo Ren in the "Star Wars" sequels, is no stranger to high-profile projects. He is set to play the legendary Enzo Ferrari in an upcoming biopic titled "Ferrari", and recently starred in the sci-fi thriller 65 and the Netflix adaptation of "White Noise" alongside Greta Gerwig.
While nothing has been confirmed yet, the prospect of Adam Driver playing Mister Fantastic has already garnered excitement among fans. Known for his intense performances and range as an actor, Driver could bring a fresh and nuanced take to the character of Reed Richards.
Created by comic book legends Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, the Fantastic Four were first introduced in Marvel Comics in November of 1961. The team is comprised of Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, his wife Susan Storm/the Invisible Woman, her brother Johnny Storm/the Human Torch, and their friend Ben Grimm/the Thing. Known for their family dynamic and unique powers, the Fantastic Four have become a beloved staple of the Marvel Universe.
As Marvel Studios continues to expand the MCU with new characters and stories, the addition of the Fantastic Four is highly anticipated. With a talented team behind the camera and potentially in front of it, we can't wait to see what's in store for Marvel's first family on the big screen.
