Lionsgate Picks Up Nicolas Cage Superman Comic-Book Movie. Nicolas Cage will finally get to star in a Superman movie (well, sort of). Lionsgate has picked up the film rights to the heist comedy Action No. 1, based on the true story of the theft and recovery of Nicolas Cage's rare Superman comic book. Night at the Museum writers Robert Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon wrote the script. The story revolves around a group of nerds who attempt to steal Nicolas Cage's copy of Action Comics No. 1, the landmark 1938 comic that introduced the world to the Man of Steel.
