Apple Unveils New Low-Cost iPhone 5C, iPhone 5S & Fingerprint Sensor

Today Apple introduced two new iPhones, revealed a fingerprint sensor to unlock your phone and announced the iOS7 release date.

The low-cost iPhone 5C will come in five colors: blue, pink, white, yellow and green and will cost $99 on a two-year contract for a 16GB version.

A second model with 32GB of memory will cost $199 in the U.S., said Phil Schiller, senior vice president of worldwide marketing at Apple, at a news conference on Tuesday.

It has a 4-inch screen, will run on Apple's A6 processor and the new iOS7 operating system (avail. September 18). It will have an 8-megapixel camera, an HD front-facing camera for video chat, and support "more LTE bands than any other smartphone in the world," the company said.

One of the biggest changes users will notice is the new case, which is in plastic rather than the metal used on recent models of the iPhone. Souce: PC World

Apple also introduced the nw iPhone 5S, launching September 20th starting at $199. The new phone will arrive in three colors: black, silver and gold.

The 5S will run on Apple's 64-bit A7 processor and sport the new M7, which monitors motion data in real-time and the OpenGL ES 3.0 specification for graphics.

Apple also confirmed that the iPhone 5S will feature a "Touch ID" 500ppi fingerprint sensor right in the 5S's home button. Source: Engadget
