Quicksilver to Appear in X-Men: Days of Future Past and The Avengers 2
Evan Peters Joins Fox's X-Men: Days of Future Past as Quicksilver. Marvel's resident speedster will also appear in The Avengers 2.
Bryan Singer has revealed that Kick-Ass (2010) and FX's American Horror Story actor Evan Peters has joined the ever-expanding cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past in the role of Magneto's son, Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver. This news follows confirmation from director Joss Whedon that Quicksilver and his sister Scarlet Witch will join Marvel's The Avengers 2.
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Pietro Maximoff aka Quicksilver has the power of superhuman speed and Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch has the ability to manipulate objects via her "hexes." In Marvel Comics Quicksilver has been a prominent member of The Avengers and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed that both studios own the movie rights to the mutant siblings, "We both have them." "There's a specific arrangement with those two characters that would allow us to use them with 'Avengers,' but not discuss or reference their mutant or Magneto-related lineage. They can use them as mutants and as Magneto's relatives, but cannot have anything to do with 'The Avengers.'" Back in 2009, Quicksilver made a brief cameo appearance in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Peters joins original-trilogy cast members Hugh Jackman, Halle Berry, Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page and Shawn Ashmore with X-Men: First Class stars Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Nicholas Hoult and James McAvoy.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is inspired by Chris Claremont and John Byrne's comic book storyline that ran in "Uncanny X-Men" #141 and 142 back in 1981. "Days of Future Past" introduced the idea of an alternate future for Marvel's mutants that grew out of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants killing an important senator, leading to a future where all mutants are hunted by Sentinels.
X-Men: Days of Future Past is scheduled to be released in conventional and 3D theaters on July 18, 2014.
