300: Rise of an Empire Photos

Warner Bros. Pictures has revealed the first official photos from 300: Rise of an Empire, the follow-up to 300 (2006), starring Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Eva Green, Lena Headey and Hans Matheson.

Based on Frank Miller's graphic novel Xerxes, this new chapter of the epic battle between the Persians and the Greeks takes the action to a fresh battlefield on the sea as Greek general Themistokles (Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. The film pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Santoro), and Artemesia (Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Warner Bros. will release 300: Rise of an Empire in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D theaters on August 2, 2013. Click the images below for a larger version.
