Laurence Fishburne Cast as Perry White in 'Man of Steel'

Great Caesar's Ghost! Laurence Fishburne Joins Man of Steel. Laurence Fishburne (CSI, Matrix films) will star in the role of Daily Planet editor-in-chief Perry White in Warner Bros. new Superman film Man of Steel. Jackie Cooper played White in the Christopher Reeve Superman movies, and Frank Langella took on the role in director Bryan Singer's 'Superman Returns'.

Fishburne joins fellow 'Matrix' actor Harry Lennix, who recently closed a deal to play a high-ranking military officer named General Swanwick. The main cast also includes Henry Cavill as the new Clark Kent/Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as General Zod, and Diane Lane and Kevin Costner as Martha and Jonathan Kent.

The Superman franchise is resurrected in this Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures production from director Zack Snyder and producer Christopher Nolan (Dark Knight). David Goyer provides the script, from a story he co-wrote with Nolan. 'Man of Steel' will hit theaters on June 14, 2013. Source EW
