Samuel L. Jackson Joins Tim Burton's 'Miss Peregrine'

Samuel L. Jackson is in negotiations for director Tim Burton's fantasy adventure Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children, based on Ransom Riggs' young adult novel of the same name. Jane Goldman (The Woman in Black) adapted the book for the big screen.

Jackson joins Eva Green (Showtime's Penny Dreadful) as the title character and Asa Butterfield (Hugo) as Jacob Portman. Deadline.com is reporting that Jackson is in talks to play the character Barron. In the novel, "Mr. Barron" was Jacob's school bus driver. When arriving at Jacob's stop, he would shout "End of the line, Portman!"

In the film, 16-year-old Jacob (Butterfield) follows clues that take him to a mysterious island, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's School for Peculiar Children.

As Jacob explores the abandoned bedrooms and hallways, he discovers that its former occupants were far more than peculiar; they possessed incredible powers. And they may still be alive.
